Hello!!!
Today i was wondering about the 3D projects around Flash still take time to everyone, and for those that doesn’t feel good enough designing trough actionscript, they will not even think loosing time on a application project to include 3D. So, my question is, as with AS3, 3D come easier to develop, shouldn’t adobe, deploy some easier tools within FLASH 9, like they made with bounce and ease effects on FLASH 8? It would be good to everyone.
Let me know what do you think about it.

Well 3D is a huge jump, especially if you want to develop a modelling tool integrated in flash, and adobe can’t hardly compete with Autodesk in this field. But I suppose they could build a library and implement some importers for 3d formats. Papervision3D is currently supporting different formats, but is still in the development stage and implies some coding skills. I can only speculate but there will probably be developed components for flash that will be able to deliver the functionality you’re looking for, that can be purchased for a reasonable prize.

I hear what u saying , but flash is more of a 2d application prog , you cant compare it to flash tween and transition classes .
True , you can achieve 3D in flash using math tricks , or by importing image sequences & vid either by 3Ds or Electric rain’s exporter , but it takes alot of time to load such a library .
I prefer flash as it is to be honest , cant wait for the PSD importer though .
gotta be fun .

One of the key things that Carlos (the top guy behind PaperVision3D) wants to do is make it easy to use. It was a point he kept repeating at the User Group meeting he spoke at in London.
As for Adobe building 3D into Flash 9, dude, it’s so far down the road they’re probably having trouble getting all the bugs fixed in time to ship.
3D in the Flash IDE is a long way down the road, I know that people have been asking for it for EVER but realistically from what I’ve heard it’s going to be v10 or v11 before we see 3D manipulation in the IDE.

As Pelle K mentioned 3d is a huge topic for Adobe to tackle. However, I think it is inevitable that in order for Flash to compete in the future, some form of 3D engine must be implemented at some stage.
I have also been keeping an eye on Papervision3D as of late, and it is indeed looking extremely promising as well as being open source. I wouldn’t mind betting that Papervision will eventually develop into a more complete and user friendly option. It’s just going to take time.

well papervision 3d got very far for now,
simppa is good too
it won’t be for gameplay but for nice sites and ideas people could do it in 3d
