Hi,

Adobe released some examples of Air applications. Some are really cool. You can find here the following samples:

Fresh – Fresh is a skinnable RSS reader built entirely using AJAX running on Adobe AIR. The Fresh reader features offline RSS reading, multiple panels within a single window, tabbed browsing, and basic browser integration. Fresh is based on the YUI-Ext / Ext JS library and RSS Feed Viewer sample by Jack Slocum.

MapCache – MapCache uses Yahoo! Maps Web Services to give you an easy to use, functional map. It demonstrates drag-and-drop to the local file system and makes it simple to find where you need to go.

Maptacular - Lets you see your personal network in a new way. This Adobe Air based mashup combines Google Maps with Vcards on your local file system and also demonstrates blending Adobe Flash with HTML using transparency.

PeekAgenda – This application uses the Backpack APIs from 37signals to keep track of your tasks whether you’re offline or online. PeekAgenda shows how an Ajax-based desktop application can work offline to create lists and then synchronize this data using Backpack APIs. Please note that prior to running PeekAgenda, you will need to obtain a Backpack API key (or “token”). To get your token, sign-up for a free Backpack account, login, follow the “Account” link at the top of page, and click on the “Show the API key” link near the bottom of the page.

PixelPerfect – a utility for measuring the size of objects on your desktop. It demonstrates custom chrome and transparent windows.

Salsa – Online storage has never been so easy. Not only can you drag and drop files between Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) storage services and your local system, you can also copy and paste from the clipboard.

Scout – gives web developers the ability to look inside a web page and see what is really going on beneath the covers. This app takes advantage of the HTML capabilities of Adobe AIR to inspect a page as it’s rendered on the client.

ScreenPlay – allows you to draw directly on your desktop using multiple transparent windows and a variety of preset tools. If you want to be really creative, it lets you configure your own drawing tools to highlight specific items currently on the desktop.

Signet – gives you the ability to take your del.icio.us bookmarks to the desktop. Built entirely in HTML and JavaScript, Signet uses the YUI-Ext / Ext JS library by Jack Slocum.

You can check all these samples at Adobe Labs.

Brgds,
