Everyone saw already the flash panoramic views giving a 360º perspective, which was really great, due to the virtual interaction between user and application. Now Immersive Media is starting a new age on video industry. Their new product is a 360º streaming video. The user can do the same as in the previous panoramic views, although this time we are speaking about a video.In other words you are virtually inside the scene.

In order to get this images, they have build special cameras like the one in the left picture, which covers all the 360º. They have also developed a full software suit, for post producing and viewing recorded immersive video images.

First the camera images are edited, then the frames are blended into global equirectangular images, which are turned into AVI files “Sphere Movies.” For quickest results this blending is done over a parallel processor, high-speed network using Xeon processors connected by Gigabit Ethernet.
